I was asked to draw some game characters for a test. I did these pretty fast but did not get the job. I'm not esp. enamored of these but they were fun. I've never really tried for a character designer position for a game company so hopefully I will get better in time.

How do they try people out for this type of assignment, Kim? Do they supply written descriptions of the characters and let you draw them, or are you working from rough sketches? Or a bit of both?
I think the biggest bullet you shot yourself in the foot with on this assignment is that the characters all seem to be facing one way, and posed in similar positions. You might want to mix things up a lot more in the future.
But I do think you made a helluv an effort and hope you feel empowered to soldier on.
