Some new updates on some paintings and some new. The oriental soldier is not done yet. I have been working on him during lunch at work. Same as the blond warrior with the armor. Been doing a little freelance at night after work; been very tired.
I used to have a set color pallette-but these days I'm all over the board. I absolutely switch colors per subject-it pushes me to explore colors I'd never thought of using. The one color I'll never go without having on the pallette these days is dioxazine purple. That has really livened up my paintings like no other. It makes great color mixes with all the warm reds, oranges and yellows, esp. the skin tones. The guy with tattoos and magenta hair is a skin tone of diox purple as a base color+raw sienna, tit white and a little cad orange medium to warm things up a little.
I'm trying! Things here have escalated to a maddening pace-the next time I take a day off, I'm going to tell everyone I left town! Friday was insane-there was a stream of people knocking on our door and the phone was ringing off the hook. I watched horrified as my day was taken up with phones calls, visits, kids coming to the door-my precious paint time disappeared again!
Wah!!!
Thanks for checking in, V! Will try to post right now!!!

Hey Pea!
Thank you!
It's nice to have you visit! Do you paint with acrylics? How did you stumble upon this blog?
Very nice paintings. Want to see more.
Where have you been, Sweetie. How about giving us some more art?
